WORLD MUSIC BLOGGER SAYS: "Some World Music purists might write this CD off as a cop-out (or perhaps a pop-out), but I love this kinda CD. First, these are all great songs...and some of these versions could be argued as better than the originals (See Sierra Leone's Refugee Allstars - "Seconds"). Second, and more importantly, if someone hears this CD that wouldn't normally listen to World Music and then decides to buy a Vieux Farka Toure or Sowetto Gospel Choir CD, then it's an all-around win for a format of music that should be heard by more people."
